Q. What kind of character can I use here?
A. This is an Original Character’s only fed. You may use whomever you prefer for an image base, but do not copy a real wrestler. For example, do not use Stone Cold Steve Austin’s image base and have your character “Rock Hard” Austin Steven’s, a beer drinking foul mouth.

Q. How many characters can I have?
A. We ask that you only have one character here in Evolution unless you plan on roleplaying as a tag team. If you are absolutely positive that you can handle two singles on the roster you must have it approved by the staff first. You may however have managers, valets, etc. but you can only have one forum account. Any pic bases for them will not be placed on the restricted list seeing as how they are not active wrestlers.

Q. If I choose to use a female character, will I still get treated equally.
A. Here in Evolution we do not discriminate against gender. If you wanted to join as a female wrestler, but want to not always be booked against other women and possibly have a run at a higher title then so be it. We will not hold you back because of your gender here.

Q. What are the roleplay limits?
A. You can post no more than 1 roleplay for each match. We set it up this way so you the roleplayer can focus on writing quality roleplays as opposed to as many as you can; Quality over Quantity. Also please be aware that all match roleplays must be at least thirty lines of text. Anything shorter will NOT be counted. Adding in song lyrics or posting in the events card will not be counted when factoring in how long your roleplay is to meet the specified requirements.

Q. Can I use a webpage layout for my roleplays?
A. Unfortunately the answer is no for a few reasons. First off they can easily be altered to add or change your roleplay which makes it easy to cheat. With the forums there is a “Last Edited By” tag that gets placed if altered. Lastly, for security purposes. Some of us may use the net at work, the library, a friend or relatives house, etc. and most “free” hosts are free because they allow advertisements to be embedded on your site. With advertisements comes Spyware and Malware which in turn can cause a lot of problems for the end user reading you roleplay.

Q. Where is this week’s event being held?
A. Originally, we were a small promotion based out of Plymouth, MI. With the new direction of CEO Mike Powers, we are now having shows in different arenas each week. The location is listed on each card posted on our Community Board.

Q. What day does the show fall on and when is the deadline to post a roleplay for it?
A. Shows will always fall on a Sunday, therefore making the Deadline Saturdays at 11:59:59 PM EST (4:59 AM GMT).  Although this gives our overseas roleplayers additional time, EST is the standard time zone for most National operating businesses in the United States.

Q. When will results be up?
A. We kindly ask that you do not ask this question. It gets to be very annoying so again please refrain from asking. The results will be posted on Sunday by 11:59 PM EST. If for some chance we know we are going to be late with the show a post will be made on the forums informing you all.

Q. What is the format used for writing results and why do you use it?
A. All matches will be well summarized paragraphs explaining what happened and who won. We do our best to ensure full-length, but for ease of results, we do not make it a lengthy match. The reasoning behind this is quite simple really. It cuts down on the amount of writers we need thus eliminating the chance of having matches not turned in as well as keeping a consistent flow with how they read. Each person has his or her own style of writing and often times when there is more than one person writing for a show the progression from match to match can and will vary. This way we can make sure everything ties in together and has a smooth feel when reading.  Also, the reason we summarize is due to time constraints. We are gearing this fed towards people who have real lives and we the staff are in the same boat as you are. We work, go to school, have families and/or lives away from the PC.

Q .What is the Availability forum?
A. If you are unable to roleplay for a specific show you must post in that weeks respective thread that you cannot. If you don’t then you will be booked. If you know you are going to be away for a few weeks for whatever reason, make sure you notify the staff so they can make the proper arrangements.

Q. What happens if I no show my first match?
A. Unless you have a really good excuse as to why, you will be removed from the roster and listed as a flake over at EFK.

Q. What happens if I no show for matches other than my first match?
A. We ask that you try your best to roleplay for your match and not to no show. The whole purpose of the Availability forum is to prevent as many no shows as possible. If you no show please have a valid excuse as to why. Also in order to be booked on the next card or any cards thereafter you must first post some form of roleplay in the Character Development board to make up for the no show. It has to be something decent in length so more than just a paragraph is a must. If you no show twice in a row you will be removed from the roster. Other than that a 3 strike rule will be set in place. Please note that if you are removed from the fed for flaking we will list you over at EFK.

Q. Can I submit a segment and what happens if I fail to submit one after I stated I would?
A. Segments are key to any fed to drive storylines and angles. After each show is booked we will post a separate Event Production Sheet to which you can sign up to submit a segment. If you ask for a spot and then fail to send something in, we will treat it like a no show. Don’t say you are going to send something in if you can’t. Segments do not have to be fancy and they can be short. If you choose to write a joint segment with someone else we will count it for you both. We ask that segments are turned in no later than the roleplay deadline mentioned above. Also please be advised that if you choose not to send in a segment and the staff wants to include you in something, we may take it upon ourselves to write you in for you. If this is the case and we accidentally portray your character wrong we ask that you do not complain over it. We give you the chance to write your own to avoid situations like this.

Q. What happens if I steal or recycle a roleplay?
A. First off, simply don’t do it. It’s common sense here. If you do steal someone else’s roleplay(s) we will catch you; plain and simple. In a nutshell plagiarism equals instant firing. I don’t care who you are or what your reasons are you’ll be fired and no excuse will get you out of it. When it comes to recycling, even though you aren’t stealing, it is very lazy and shows you don’t really care all that much. Depending on the severity of the incident will determine you fate within the fed.

Q. How do you judge the winners?
A. That is a good question. Sometimes it is plain as day who won, but in cases where it is too close to call and therefore we will use a scoring system to determine the winner of a match. Your matches are judged out of a possible ten points on the criteria listed below. We then add up the five categories and multiply by 0.2 to get your total score.

Originality/Creativity: This is obvious. We don’t want to see every roleplay you post be in the same type of setting. Make things exciting and unique. Step outside of the traditional roleplay and try something different!

On Topic: Does your promo/roleplay stay focused and on topic? If you want to cover multiple things that is fine just make it flow. Don’t jump around a lot. It just confuses us all and makes reading your roleplay more of a chore then a pleasure.

Spelling/Grammar/Color: We are HUGE on this rule. If we need to use a decipher script or run your posts through MS Word to clean up the spelling you will lose major points. Please take the time to fully type out the word “you” instead of just “u”. It’s not that hard folks. Please proofread to catch these errors. Sometimes proofreading alone can catch many visible errors. Also as a last note, color in your roleplays is always a good thing because it makes it easier for the reader to know who is speaking. But if you use colors such as the basic blue and purple that are pre-installed on the forums and we have to highlight your text in order to read it because they blend in with the background or are too hard on the eyes, we will knock off some serious points. There are other alternatives then what is given to you on the color drop down tab. You can use basically use any shade of any color you can think of as long as you have the six digit hex code for it. A list of different hex codes can be found by a simple Google search.

Structure: How well your roleplay was put together. Did you cover everything needed or did you jump around a lot from topic to topic. Also do you repeat yourself a lot? These all play parts in your score here.

Effort: Does it look like you spent all of five minutes doing it or does it look like you gave it the best attempt you possibly could?

Your total scores will then be compared and the person with the higher score will win their match up. In case of a tie we the staff will select an outside neutral party to rate and decide the winner. Please note, that once you post a roleplay you cannot edit it to add or change things. If it is edited there will be an “Post Last Edited” tag placed in the post and it will be disqualified. There is the “Preview Post” feature there for a reason, so please use it.

Q. What can I post in my roleplay?
A. In your roleplays and promos pretty much anything goes. This means violence, racism, sexism and swearing are all allowed which is why we ask for mature roleplayers only. Just because a person’s character says or does something that doesn’t mean the handler feels the same way. Certain things will not be tolerated however. Such acts as raping, molesting, bestiality, and murder will be seriously frowned upon! Yes this is fantasy, but we want to keep it somewhat real. If your character wishes to literally kill another character during a match or in a promo there will be real life consequences such as sending you to jail and terminating your position with Evolution. Also please do not use others in your work! You may only use yourself, your manager, and/or interviewers in your posts unless you get permission first! This includes members of the staff. If you are given the go to use another person/character please post somewhere either at the start or the end that your received permission to use characters other than yours in your posts.

Q. How are title shots determined?
A. If you are familiar with sites like the Experts and the Collective, we will use a similar ranking system as they do. When you win you will gain an point and when you lose a point will be deducted. Competing in the Main Event for a show, winning a title, defending a title, and so forth will earn you bonus points. The higher your total, the higher you move up. Contenders for titles must be within the Top 5 for rankings. We will take a few other things in to consideration as well such as your participation with segments as well as how often you post on the forums. The more active you are only better your chances at earning a title shot.

Q. What are the rules for the OOC?
A. We hate that we have to actually list these, but sadly there are some people who just don’t get it. First and foremost any form of drama will NOT be tolerated. We are all adults here so please act like one. If you feel your loss was unfair or unjust please take it up directly with the staff via PM, IM or E-Mail. Do not flame the boards! WE REPEAT, DO NO FLAME THE BOARDS!! If you act like a mature person about a situation we will show you the same respect. If you get hot headed with us then you are seriously messing with the wrong people. Also please be aware that racism, sexism, prejudice, discrimination, etc. is expressly forbidden on the OOC boards. Failure to comply with this rule will have you packing your bags with a one way ticket straight out of Evolution. Also, stating your personal opinions on a subject is perfectly fine, but if it blows into a huge epidemic the topic will be closed. For instance if someone asks for feedback on a roleplay or a GFX they made and you didn’t like it, simply state that you didn’t like it. Maybe even give ideas on how to improve it. Do not flat out bash the persons work. It’s called constructive criticism for a reason folks! Further commenting on a closed topic such as stated prior will not be tolerated so do not do it!
